I have up for sale a tough 1988 Turtle Mountain 1 ton Military trailer. This is a USMC Equipment trailer that was used to haul generators in Iraq but was converted from a flat bed to a cargo bed using a 6x9 M105 trailer bed. The bed came from FT Bragg and does have a couple of repair spots that were done by the military. The Bed and trailer are solid and ready for duty. The conversion came out perfect and balanced making it easy to hand maneuver empty in the driveway. This trailer is the ultimate in heavy duty as it has hydraulic surge brakes with a Toledo actuator using silicone DOT 5 heavy duty brake fluid which makes it easily tow-able by any vehicle with a class 3 hitch. It has new brake shoes and has had the bearings redone and packed with military spec grease. It also has an 8 lug 1 ton axle, heavy duty all terrain shock absorbers, 1 ton springs with lubricated shackles which have grease fittings, parking brakes to keep it wherever you put it, radial LT265 75 R16 Load range E Heavy Duty tires mounted and balanced on Ford Econoline 8 lug steel wheels with new valve stems, built in pivoting quick release tongue stand, lift shackles, and retractable load leveling stand to keep the trailer level during loading. This trailer is built tough and has the clearance and suspension for off road use and tows well behind a 4X4 or any truck or SUV. I have towed it over 200 miles at speeds between 75 and 80mph and it tracked straight and true with absolutely no sway. This would be perfect for generators, welders, hauling wood, and whatever equipment or materials you would like to haul on it. It has an 11000lb capacity lunette eye for towing which is much safer than the standard ball mount as it allows a 180 degree pivot either vertical or horizontal that a standard ball mount cannot do without popping out. It also comes with a brand new 4 pin electrical connector and 12 volt light set installed and I am also including a heavy duty Valley class III pintle hook receiver with adjustable mount which cost $129.00 so you can pick it up and take it straight home. Because the axles use standard 8 lug rims you can use any GM, Ford (96 and earlier not Super Duty metric), or Mopar 8 lug rim on it that are lug nut centered. The possibilities are limitless. This trailer also comes with a full set of the new style rails with fiberglass slats and a set of 4 top bows. The trailer weighs only 1500lbs which means the State of Florida will not issue a Title for it. It has to be over 2000 lbs to be titled so it is being sold with all documentation including a copy of the original, notarized bill of sale from the US government and a bill of sale from me. It is easily registered with a bill of sale and a weight ticket from a certified scale. This is a Demil Q item which means it is only available for sale only to a US Citizen (a copy of your drivers license ID required to be on file) and the buyer will have to sign an End User Certificate declaring it will not be exported from the United States. The ride height of the trailer has been lowered from the original configuration which increases fuel economy on the tow vehicle. The US Government paid $4985.00 for this trailer in 1988 and $2982.00 from Pribbs steel for the bed.
