Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue If you have questions, that's where you'll find the answers..... Champlain, a.k.a 'Sammy Boo' or 'Clown Boy', is settling in very nicely and slowly learning to live in the 'real' world where, yes, there are other people, cars, bicycles, and things that move. It can all be very frightening to Champlain, who never had any socialization during his early years, but the more he is experiencing the world outside his foster home, the better he is becoming. He still has a very long way to go, but if there is a forever home out there willing to work with a scared boy and teach him to face his fears and not strike out at them, they will have a sweet, funny, jolly, little Cairn boy. Not a day goes by when he doesn't make Foster Mom laugh - whether it's his prancing walk over to see what the cat is doing (and maybe a chance to bark at her!), or pushing his rubber chicken around the snow-covered lawn. He is one in a million. He is doing great on his house-training, rarely having accidents if he can be let out regularly. He is learning to be more polite in the company of the other dogs and actually loves playing Cairn wrestling games with his foster brother, Snickerdoodle. He would benefit from a doggie brother or sister as long as they are laid back because 'Sammy' has alpha tendencies and is always wanting what the other dog has, which can lead to some 'discussions' amongst the pack. If you are searching for a special Cairn and have the time to put into training, or you have experience with reactive dogs, Champlain would love to have a home with more structure and more time for him so he can learn that the world can be a good place full of people who love him, just like his Foster Mom does.
