8-09 Helen was rescued from animal control - she had been abandoned by her owner. Other than a bad case of fleas and skin irritation, which has been treated, she otherwise had a good checkup and bloodwork at the vet hospital and is also heartworm negative, spayed and vaccinated. However, we have discovered that she is very hard of hearing and could be partially deaf. She can hear loud noises though. She is a sweet, laid back mature dog, housebroken and crate trained. She also walks well on-leash. She is doing fine with the other dogs in her foster home but does not interact with them, simply ignores them! She also seems fine around nice children but we recommend no small kids because she is small and her hearing impairment is a handicap that could hinder her in how she reacts to small children and being overstimulated by alot of activity.
