Everything listed above about Crested's describes Obie to the letter. He was surrendered to PPRI by his second owner because she didn't have the time to housetrain him [the same reason his 1st owner gave him away] & just had new rugs installed in her home. You understand why he anxiously circles, when you realize he spent 9 hrs a day in a crate alone & was only let out for the evening due to guilt by his owners. [my husband insists he'd pass astronaut training w/ flying colors due to his tolerance for spinning w/o losing his lunch]. So, his owner's bedtime was when Obie would do his business in the house--while nobody was awake to let him outside. All he needs is a regular routine & patience from his new family. He does give a warning sign when he's about to 'go'. He'll do about 5 small but speedy circles & then squats. He's 100% vetted & microchipped & is desperately seeking his forever home. These dogs are sweet, lively, playful and cuddly. They are exceptionally loving. Affectionate with children. Children should be taught not to be rough with this breed as it is friendly, but it does not have the protective hair that other breeds have and can get injured easily. They are an entertaining companion. Intelligent and very alert. They have an ability to perform tricks and are generally good with other pets. They are not barkers. They tend to become very attached to their owners. These dogs enjoy constant companionship, and need constant human leadership'. ~~~~~'Chinese Crested are very clean, with no doggie odor and are not prone to fleas or ticks. Bathe the Hairless frequently and massage a little oil or cream into the skin to keep it supple. These dogs shed little to no hair and are great for allergy sufferers.Do not overfeed this breed, as it will become obese if given the chance.
